STORAGE


HARD DISKS

Hard disks
-contains one or more inflexible, circular platters that use magnetic particles to store data, instructions and information.

Characteristics of hard disks:


FLASH MEMORY STORAGE

Flash memory chips
-type of solid state media and contain no moving parts

Memory card
-removable flash memory device that can be insert and remove from a slot in a computer, mobile device or card reader / writer.

USB flash drive
-plug into a USB port on a computer or mobile device

CLOUD STORAGE


Cloud storage
-an Internet service that provides storage to computer or mobile devices

OPTICAL DISKS

Optical Disks
-consists of flat, round, portable disc made of metal, plastic and lacquer that is written and read by a laser.

OTHER TYPES OF STORAGE

Magnetic Stripe card
-contains a magnetic stripe that stores information

Smart card
-stores data on an integrated circuit embedded in the card

Microfilm and microfiche
-store microscopic images of documents on a roll or sheet film

CONCLUSION:
There are variety storage options with the storage capacity. So the user should know how to use it to backup file in case of emergency when the original cannot be retrieved.

-hardware or software that protects a network's resources from instrusion

Software theft occurs when someone:
-steals software media
-intentionally erases program
-illegally registers and/or activates a program
-illegally copies a program

-online or by phone
-users provide the software product's identification number to associate the software with the computer or mobile device on which the software is installed.

Information theft
-steals personal or confidential information

Encryption
-process of converting data that is readable by humans into encoded characters to prevent unauthorized access.

CONCLUSION:
The evolution of Internet in 1969 and thus creates the web which as benefits us, the human beings very much.Thus when various websites were created,other services were available on Internet such as email which widely used in business and administration throughout the world.
